One thing I am committed to as I write books about Biblical people or events is transparency.
I admit, I am much too lazy to create a legitimate bibliography like you’d find in a non-fiction piece, but I think simply sharing the resources I use as I study aspects of the Bible and Theology may be valuable to you.
Of course, I do not stick to one denomination, or even Protestant over Catholic, resources. I also am not opposed to referencing secular resources.
That said, if you are a Bible-believing Christian, then you KNOW the power of the Bible and the Holy Spirit – so you will understand my faith in this: Wherever my research leads, so long as I am putting HIS Message before my own, I trust with all my heart that the Spirit will guide and lead me as I write. You will also understand this: It is highly likely that the Spirit will lead me to write things that may not make sense to you. So, I encourage you to prayerfully dig deeper. Dig into His Word along with the Spirit, and weigh whatever you might read in my FICTION book against Scripture and Spiritual Conviction.
If you are not a Christian, then I encourage you to simply enjoy the book for what it is: A fictional account asking “What if” – and if you feel so inclined to read over these different resources, I genuinely pray that your heart and mind are opened to possibilities beyond your imagination and understanding.
This is a WORKING Bibliography. Over time, the list will be added as I find more to research. I will not share the links at this time, but most of these resources can be found with a simple internet search. In the end, when In The Garden is ready for publication, this working bibliography will likely hold more than the Bibliography I include in the book itself as I am not likely to pull all aspects of my research into the story.
